The Premarital Podcast That Has Everyone Singing!

Every now and then someone asks me to send them my notes or outline structure for Premarital Counseling.  With every couple, with little variation, it’s all pretty much the same.  If I can get the couple to think about, eventually talk about, four common topics … it’s a good start.

Marriage is hard work.  I’m convinced that any man and woman can make a marriage work … if THEY are willing to work!

So, here’s an oldie but goodie (with a whole lotta songs) on Premarital Counseling:

COLCHESTER: The Parish of St Helen

Traveling the United Kingdom as an Orthodox pilgrim, you just never know what you might find. There was a time when I wanted to start a mission in Charlotte, North Carolina and name it for St Helen. I was told that it would need to be named for Ss Constantine & Helen. Regardless, it never came to fruition. But, my youngest daughter, Helen will be happy to note that there is a parish named for [only] her patron saint in Colchester, England. Colchester has a rich history — as does the Parish of St Helen.

Here are some pics from my visit this past Sunday.

ESSEX: Monastery of St John the Baptist

I was blessed to spend eight days at the Monastery of St John the Baptist in Essex, which was founded by Fr Sophrony (Sakharov). There are no pictures, below, of the iconography within the various temples on the monastery grounds for several reasons: 1) digital images, outside of context and setting, would not do justice; 2) pictures were discouraged; 3) it just didn’t seem right. BUT, here are some images of the monastery grounds (and famous cats).
